Having grown up in a haunted house spending time in creepy locations feels oddly comfortably familiar to me. Doing this kind of work not only aids me in still processing everything that happened when I was a kid, but it also leaves me feeling grateful that I’m able to help others dealing with similar circumstances.
After graduating from the Berkeley Psychic Institute I did professional psychic work for a few years helping people with their love lives, careers and other questions, when I was approached to help out San Francisco Paranormal with their investigations. I immediately said yes. The structure of our first two investigations was that I would go in and see what was happening on a property first without any prior knowledge, then the tech crew would come in later with EMF detectors, EVP recorders and the like to see what they could find, while someone else would go digging into the property’s history.

Things changed on our third case together investigating an apartment near Dolores Park. I walked up to the address and asked, “Who is the old lady in the pink bathrobe on the third floor staring down at us?” My friend said, “I think you’ll find out because that’s where we are going.” Inside the flat I had a lengthy conversation with the spirit of the old woman. She had lived in the apartment for forty years and she had no interest in leaving. She didn’t know that she’d died – which is so often the case. I asked if she wanted help moving on and she said no. I asked her if she could be more polite to the new tenants then, that she was in their home now, and she said that she would.

When the tech investigation was to begin that night only one crew member showed up, so I stayed to help and we all discovered there were benefits to my doing so. I was able to immediately verify that the woman’s voice captured on an Electronic Voice Phenomenon recording was that of the previous tenant. At another point someone was engaged with an energy they thought was her, but I informed them they were dealing with a middle-aged male spirit from the first floor that travels the building and came in to see what was going on. It was decided that night that going forward while I’d still do an initial psychic home tour alone, that having me come along on the investigation was essential.

Wrapping things up I was informed that an agoraphobic woman had lived in the apartment for 40 years and that the current tenants would see her apparition wearing a pink bathrobe sometimes, particularly in the kitchen – and that was the moment my love for working on paranormal investigations began. As a psychic I’d received plenty of positive validation for readings and healing work over the years, but the feeling I experienced being given concrete factual evidence to back up what I just saw and heard was exciting and validating.

San Francisco Paranormal was active for several years and helped a lot of people. I also started doing property cleansing and healing work at many locations which were successful most of the time and helped a lot of spirits move on. The team unfortunately fell apart not long after I moved to Los Angeles. While there is a paranormal crew currently operating in the Bay Area with a similar name, the two groups are completely unrelated.
Currently here in Los Angeles I primarily perform paranormal investigation visits solo. If after visiting a home or business I find it valuable to bring in any additional support l will call in the reinforcements, but those cases are much rarer than television would have you believe.
