September 2009 Archives
Snowzilla shot this video of Kelly Jo and I on the diving boards at Hoop Camp 2009. The hoop was very small for me so I was a little surprised I pulled it off.
Here's a video I made from the limited footage I shot at Hoop Camp 2009. I wasn't planning on making a video, just playing with the video function on my new camera from time to time, but I decided to really learn iMovie and make something out of what I had and this is my first little film, as it were. I hope you like it.

David Arenas and I spent the afternoon having lunch at Paramount Studios where we ended up on an unplanned and unauthorized ghost tour, followed by a visit to the Hollywood Forever cemetery next door - where we spent quite a bit of time enjoying the grounds and taking photos. You can view the full set here.

David Arenas, one of my favorite photographers, took me out to the Toy District and industrial areas of Los Angeles for some late night photography, teaching me how to use my new camera for taking shots in the dark, literally. Some had a degree of street light, while others had literally no light at all. You can see a few more shots from the night here.

My best friend Brien O'Brien took me and Jerry and Tony on a day trip up to Idyllwild. It's a great little town in the San Jacinto mountains above Palm Springs. Apparently the best truffles in the world are at Bonnie's Happy Look, and the crystals at Georgia's next door? Amazing!
My friend Lucian shot this video of me hooping during our camp's big hoopjam at Burning Man.

I organized the World Hoop Day celebration for the Bay Area this year and we had 9 hours of hoopenings at the San Francisco Civic Center across from City Hall including classes, hoopjams, performances and more. You can view my photos from the day here and my very first video with my new camera below:
