Bohren & der Club of Gore

I'm all about the German space death jazz tonight: Bohren & der Club of Gore - at the Great American Music Hall. They make me want to smoke Nat Sherman cigarettes and dance incredibly, incredibly, incredibly slow.

Update: Incredible show. Almost pitch black except for tiny suspended color changing LED lights barely illuminating each of the three members of the band. The music is great to listen to at home, but live and in person and at high the volume it's as if every note is sent purposefully to shake your very soul. Michael and I even took our shoes off at one point to see if standing on the actual floor would be helpful, our bodies reverberating with sound. The saxophone was the most delicious ever. How did they make it sound so mesmerizingly good? A total treat to see one of my favorite bands for the first time tonight and they did not disappoint. In fact, they far exceeded all of my expectations.
