All I know is there's something to give. A beautiful video filmed in Catalonia for one of my favorite songs.
"An existential crisis can occur when the answers to the questions about the meaning and purpose of life (as well as our place in it) no longer provide satisfaction, direction or peace of mind to an individual or, even taken further in a society. Basically you question your faith and all of societies beliefs without finding an answer, because you realize there is no sufficient answer. There are times when everyone begins to feel that even daily chores are overwhelming. We fret about things, and think about them obsessively. When a problem seems too large or intractable, we feel bad. This might be a spiritual crisis, a problem with accomplishments, or failure in love or friendship. Feeling bad isn't the problem; the problem itself is the problem. This might help you to respond to existential crises of all sorts." WikiHow
The latest single from Gentleman Reg spells out exactly why I love him so much. It's called "We're In a Thunderstorm."

Six years ago Vera and I started Bay Area Hoopers. Today there was an anniversary celebration hoop jam in Dolores Park. This is a photo of Jennaluna. There are more anniversary pics over here.
I believe in the healing power of disco. The full version of "Put Your Feet To The Beat" by the Ritchie Family is probably my favorite disco song ever. I was surprised to find a video for it today. Get some healing now!
Susan Boyle blew me away. She's 47 and unemployed and her life just changed forever.

It's so good to be home!

I taught a class at Flow: The Northwest Hoop Gathering in Bend, Oregon, on leg work. It was an incredible weekend of hooping with some of the greatest hoop teachers there are. Thanks Dazzle! I also got to be Dirty Snowflake Apparel's first customer - cool hooper clothes for boys! Check out more photos from my weekend. We were in the local paper too!

I celebrated my birthday in Seattle, Washington, the place that was home to the first half of my life's history. I like how you can stretch your birthday into several days by having lunches and dinners with people, and even longer going out with friends when you get back! During my week in Seattle I saw my parents, my oldest brother John and his wife Mel, my youngest brother Bret and Alyssa and little Dahlia, my brother Ray and Ellen (not pictured), Arleen and Libby and Sheila from high school, as well as old friends Marshall, Jerry, Bill, and Ben.

We filled up the hummingbird feeder at my parent's house due to popular demand.

My parents live on Jackson Lake in Washington state.
I'm all about the German space death jazz tonight: Bohren & der Club of Gore - at the Great American Music Hall. They make me want to smoke Nat Sherman cigarettes and dance incredibly, incredibly, incredibly slow.
Update: Incredible show. Almost pitch black except for tiny suspended color changing LED lights barely illuminating each of the three members of the band. The music is great to listen to at home, but live and in person and at high the volume it's as if every note is sent purposefully to shake your very soul. Michael and I even took our shoes off at one point to see if standing on the actual floor would be helpful, our bodies reverberating with sound. The saxophone was the most delicious ever. How did they make it sound so mesmerizingly good? A total treat to see one of my favorite bands for the first time tonight and they did not disappoint. In fact, they far exceeded all of my expectations.
